Meet Rover - the pill bug we found. We made him a Crystal Geyser Habitat filled with leaves dirt and grass. James named him Rover and taped his name to the habitat. Chase just calls him "bug". We looked him up on the internet - he is also known as a wood louse - or a rolly-poly (but not potato bug as I had thought). He is an invertebrate - with seven connected legs - it looks like fourteen to us. We'll release him after our learning is done.

In Austin, I went to The Home Depo, searching for a remedy for a potato bug invasion in my living room. The kind sir at the help desk had no idea what I was talking about. When I at last described the gray, segmented shell, rolly -pollies he said "oh, why you mean a pill bug!"
