M.I.A.
My phone has been missing now for five days and I am sick of it. I am sick of the looking, the wondering, and I am mostly sick of the not having it. Sigh.
The truth is I have been missing in action as well - but instead of by accident, its been by choice. Earlier in the month I just disappeared into the wedding planning and visitors and more recently to Utah. But the truth is, now that its over, I have too much time on my hands to think about my own life. And I'd rather not. Sometimes its just easier to stay busy and invisible then to stop and take a hard look at ourselves. I loathe the thought and question - what next?!
But, I do have a few things planned. I have recently passed the CBEST (the California State test to teach)...and I have applied to substitute a few times before the end of the school year to see if I like it - teaching?! I hope I like it. But I'm not sure what I will do for the summer - if anyone has any great brainstorms send them my way.

Hi Angie! It's good to find you on your blog. Where in CA are you? Congratulations on passing the CBEST. That's exciting! As far as ideas are concerned for summer activities, I always like to organize when I have spare time. It allows me to feel a little piece of calm. I need that since life as a Mom of 3 is chaotic to say the least. Start drawer by drawer and cupboard by cupboard. And then start a binder with all your design ideas and keep it in a nice Kolo binder on the coffee table for quick peeks throughout the day. I'm making mine tomorrow night!
OH ditto, if anyone finds my verizon phone please PLEASe please let me know
I don't have any ideas for this summer, but I do want to say that you would/will/do make the BEST. TEACHER. EVER! Oh, those lucky, lucky kids.
Come visit me!!!
That is so exciting about the CBEST! You will be such a great teacher if that's what you decide to do. I hope you find your phone!
It drives me crazy when I lose things! I hope you locate your phone soon. Congrats on passing the CBEST! That's great! What ages are you thinking of subbing? You will be so fantastic! You have so many wonderful and creative ideas. Good luck!! Love you!
I totally understand - going mia seems like the only way to deal sometimes. :) Whatever you decide to do, do it on your own timetable. I think you'll be a wonderful teacher.
Sometimes the only time I could function when I was going through hard times was to go to a list of things (which I made on good days) that I really wanted to do. Items on those lists included things I could do in a day or two, things I wanted to do on my own, things I wanted to do with my kids, and things I wanted to do with others. Then during hard times I didn't have to think so much. We're going camping the first week in August, you could come visit Emmie and then come camping.
Checking out, is sometimes natures way of helping up deal with the times we have to check in. I don't know anyone who does it better than you!!! I agree you will be the BEST teacher ever.
You Robinson girls with your phones... and Angie there is no doubt in my mind that you'll be that substitute teacher that makes every kid smile when they walk through the door and see you. (and secretly hope there real teacher becomes even more ill, so they can have you for a couple more days.)
I have missed you. Let's plan a trip, what do you think of Italy? (I have never been to South Dakota either, if that sounds better.)
By the way, Mia has not seen this post yet, but I can't wait to show her - she will think it is all about her...
Congrats on the CBEST!
I'll join you and Rebecca in Italy, or South Dakota!
We have the phone.
We have dinosaurs in our house.
I can't tell you- I think that I hate it even more than you that you do not have your phone!!! It is making me crazy not to have you at the tip of my fingers--
And congrats on the CBEST, another thing that I didn't know because of the phone situation. . . grrrrrrrrrrr.
Congrats on the CBEST! That is great news, you would be an awesome teacher! I just wish you were closer and Sydney could have you as a teacher.
Come to Utah, We miss and love you
Hey Angie, GOOD NEWS! I found your phone last night. Bruce heard yesterday from Josh that you had been missing it and so we should look in the room you were in. I remembered to do that when I was saying my prayers at 2 a.m. and so I got up and went to look. I found it on the floor between the bed and the window--closer to the bed and a teeny bit under it. So I have texted Josh, EMily, Roy and Catherine that it is here and to come and get it before they leave to go back home. HURRAY! I'm just sorry that I didn't know to look sooner! Happy Day, Koral
